Character Dance

After students have studied classical ballet for one to three years, they may be invited to begin taking Character Dance, which combines folk dance and mime and is featured in such ballets as Swan Lake, Giselle, and The Nutcracker. State Street Dance Studio offers the Slavic, Russian technique with an emphasis on dance acting. Students enhance their ability to make movement, express character, and emotion.
